When was the last time you thought about the real contents of your beloved art supplies? Art is a vital part of our lives! Why not also make it green? While art supplies are not usually considered detrimental to the environment they do contain various toxins and pollutants that are harmful to both you and the environment. We know you are dying to get creative at your next meeting, so consider an eco-friendly approach when buying your supplies.

I recently discovered Eco-Kids which offer Sustainable Art Products that are all-natural and environmentally friendly.

One of my favorite products, eco-art pads, are made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials and agricultural waste.  This “treeless” paper is made from the discarded stalks of banana trees, which would otherwise have gone to waste.

Their play dough is a combination of all-natural ingredients which includes plant and vegetable extracts, dyed by beets, spinach, paprika, carrots, purple sweet potato, red cabbage, blueberries and tomatoes.

Environmentally friendly, non-toxic “clean” supplies are gaining in popularity as we become more aware of the toxins encountered in everyday materials. Check out these other great resources for eco-friendly art supplies.
